Firehouse Subs Supports Toronto Search and Rescue Marine with Life-Saving Equipment
There are few companies built by first responders that are just as committed to supporting them—and Firehouse Subs is one of those rare few.

Toronto Search and Rescue Marine (TSAR) is proud to announce that, thanks to a generous grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, we were able to purchase top-of-the-line Salus personal flotation devices (PFDs) for our crew. These PFDs are critical to our mission, providing enhanced safety and mobility during marine rescue operations on Lake Ontario. Every piece of equipment we carry plays a vital role—and these PFDs quite literally help save lives.
Founded by firefighters, Firehouse Subs has carried its commitment to public safety far beyond the kitchen. Through their Public Safety Foundation—launched in the U.S. in 2005 and expanded to Canada in 2015—they have donated over $5.1 million to 391 public safety organizations across Canada.

What the Foundation Supports:
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provides funding for:
-
Lifesaving Equipment: Including vehicle extrication tools, AEDs, thermal imaging cameras, and water rescue gear like our new PFDs.
-
Prevention Education: Educational tools for public safety and natural disaster preparedness.
-
Scholarships: Financial support for continuing education of first responders.
-
Disaster Relief: Aid to communities impacted by natural disasters.
-
Veteran Support: Funding programs and equipment benefiting military veterans.
At TSAR, we rely on partnerships like these to continue our mission of keeping Toronto's waterfront safe. A heartfelt thank you to Firehouse Subs for standing behind the people who serve—and for giving us the tools to do the job safely and effectively.
From one group of first responders to another: thank you.
